I really enjoyed incorporating the new technology into my classroom. I assigned a project to my 7th grade class that had them analyzing the theme of a song, then depicting the theme in a presentation using iMovie. Admittedly, I was a little nervous with taking on such an ambitious project for the first time. One of the first things that the students had to do was to bring in a song and load it on their classroom computers. I was amazed at how well they tackeld this part of the project. One of my students, who is normally very shy and does not participate much in class, brought in an iTunes card and began helping several of her classmates, and me, with downloading their music choice. Suddenly, she became the expert in downloading music. It is rewarding to be able to reinforce her participation and ability in a new way. The students really enjoyed making their presentations and have enjoyed viewing each others work. This project was exactly what I needed to inspire me continue looking for ways to incorporate digital storytelling in my classroom.
